& Q$ K; M* T( k. M  ]* M7 S之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
2 O: t0 C7 o1 V雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

1.schematic review and design
原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
* x3 e! A& h' Z+ c; h1 M/ y也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
; n" w7 n: M$ r! A' \& d3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
) W0 W+ e" o) n1 \現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
0 J5 l2 Y  j5 i6 w) r教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。

IC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：
1.學習能力
$ G9 B/ z$ R! F  X, D8 H. w) U根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
- M3 Q# w8 W  a8 j快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
/ u# i# }% C. K9 W. ~. Q9 ?不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
9 `, L; G" _3 [- \; g2 i3 z1 o良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
  g' W" N  I5 t3 s常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。

- {. z* ~* x, s" N, K4 D通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：

目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
: V. F, R' U0 C1 Q: G& P合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
( h) c* O4 z: m, o4 a1 n1 `AE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
8 U. Z' M; ?' m1 F  ~, `往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
+ q: k' E/ h6 X$ @' x/ D+ C; V一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：

. u2 \( f+ Y( k+ z6 F不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

: q# T% n! ]' I* x在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

8 N7 Q- J: _6 G& w* p專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!

過了約兩個星期錄取通知寄來了 我就這樣開始了工程師的職涯

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

/ \/ R# B& {1 L由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

. P( X; Z: \- U  g因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

. S( P# V0 Y0 r" K3 O+ I0 Y看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

) r# R. Z/ w5 g2 l, \) v7 E專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

' s/ m4 T5 c" o3 K4 `差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

& B; _# L, Q' U* R加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

) \, A& m* L, B- E  F; V6 ]因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
