之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
. ]+ n0 w2 |# V: j% R雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
4 \) O- k  i; Z只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

& o1 s& e: ^" O  F要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行

1.schematic review and design
0 n* H  B" W7 ?: _; G: J$ t原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
  Y$ F+ c6 m2 O1 _: H* R9 M0 a) e6 [也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
$ ?, h  F! j. v3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
; c  y$ r. h5 z+ x4.Training
教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
2 p: L" ]- Z  D/ {  L' u$ lsales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
IC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：

; p1 d% j1 M9 e+ s% f8 E! q根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
/ l6 Z& T0 t0 a: M) N- Y3 e1 @快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
; G) ^- O8 p3 S* g溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
  }  g8 s$ [5 I9 B+ d無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
+ ^6 t2 e8 y5 Y2 f. D% h* {( J會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
6 C/ |. T8 |& b' f4.EQ能力
( y+ k0 S  X. G" ?( A' T# \AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
! C7 Y' X' p  B8 l7 W良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
& N! S" k3 [  ^. y# T常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
背景：
目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
0 _, S1 |; T" h3 A合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
4 O# b' n* ^' {7 R0 M出路：
# r6 m, N8 ~) V6 N. |$ `# }: bAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
/ J) y  E" Y- C- n一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

- B9 s$ o* W1 w4 Y6 Q以上是一般IC廠的AE資訊，系統廠的AE又會有不同的角色及工作內容，有待有經驗者分享

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

5 p8 r: Q2 b- l6 f( g$ _2 J7 l- a對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快


FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

; v1 _% l( W$ W  \. a總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

FAE需要的專業?

FAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

6 ?* ~3 F* K0 L& K2 h4 B零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

: ~- ?+ z- R! r% e& p- g5 x看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

; n3 _& A! |' @( u. j專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

FAE的發展

由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的
0 Y$ W% |1 g( h% V- O8 _/ D, L
" e" i5 t* c9 q0 ^加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

3 d$ a4 M9 h) e9 p/ n6 q以上三點是最主要的發展方向

2 R2 A0 [+ k, S1 N- W若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

9 ]; ^2 B3 K; r9 P+ R1 j1 p因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
