事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

" i0 f+ B- M. ~7 r$ W8 ]5 }/ Q他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
. s; @1 {  [0 |* }. V雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
( w' p3 C* V3 {/ H! B# |- U. _只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

7 T9 r1 ], ?# F" o" z原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
: o5 Y' U) u3 i* S/ p也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
* x# |3 Z( T7 u/ ?2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
1 A$ l) K1 Z( l' x現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。

教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
5 G' t. R! [+ y+ QIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：
1.學習能力
) |7 v( T1 a* k1 J根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
( P/ m, q6 Z/ c! O$ y快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
% E; G( N8 a1 m7 M8 O不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
+ }* B, `+ ^! m7 {2 [6 L: T工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
) i* P5 E2 T) w* o' [9 b無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
, F: @4 ^  D* Y- f1 {+ s, V4.EQ能力
8 u) |" X5 F" S! D0 Y5 b& kAE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
  m. u0 Y4 |8 Y  N9 h良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
$ q/ \# `) C8 y& L+ o通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
背景：
目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
7 v* s6 f' I5 L) f2 ?' {2 E合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
8 T8 `- _: g' sAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
4 U% L7 c$ a, Q; @) M往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。

一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
  B/ C) Q! z2 g; M* ^# j不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

' O% q8 b4 |6 m以上是一般IC廠的AE資訊，系統廠的AE又會有不同的角色及工作內容，有待有經驗者分享

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

& S- Q0 a8 r. _; i: D或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

# G" M! B3 X8 ^8 _對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

/ G* l; P* L  l我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

0 ]# [8 j/ ]; d! t3 d' k$ S& OFAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

" u3 ]- G- p6 [0 r/ W因此會交際和實力一樣重要

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

& y+ I# P: \8 l9 h- p3 F. E! T& J或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

FAE需要的專業?

FAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作
# \- O/ @. Q1 h4 m% @/ U
零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

8 z! i% k. U7 D+ t看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

1 B1 e0 g6 _/ a4 f3 X0 m/ k* h差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

所以最需要的專業 應該是嘴砲技能...XD

FAE的發展

由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

4 ^/ C' }" L5 ~7 y看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的
0 g; O3 A$ g1 {+ z5 z
. L0 h! F" D* \5 Y加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件
) q3 ~$ E% b# b6 Q
以上三點是最主要的發展方向

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

* H7 k1 f9 x, u9 Z因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

  h, h  O. Z1 g若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD

* a! @7 ^7 C) S% E對於整體的工作效率會有很大的幫助 一點小小的淺見
