事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
1 E$ g% Z9 h3 L$ v" D雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
5 b4 z# ]8 Z% q4 o. N1 `5 C% b只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

AE工作內容：

! I7 ~9 L* f6 ]. O2 y原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
. W4 Q6 h) a  L8 `2 }/ T原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
+ f0 R3 U* f2 ?$ {0 H/ G9 r3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
3 n6 l% k8 O$ P9 M. z/ G6 K# _現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。

AE所需的技能：
1.學習能力
/ r# j& ^( R8 U0 Z+ Z根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
% L- m6 w0 y' X$ P3 R: ~不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
' g# I5 Q# u: |溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
& n$ {0 M( d) k) h工作事半功倍。

: k% u- K$ v: I% l% e; w- x無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
7 j+ ?$ k2 C, Y+ t; j, C良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會

5.多工及管理能力
通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
背景：
% A7 y; O" h3 X6 h" h目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
2 _% ]1 x# k8 y0 j) B6 H8 C/ U6 q合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
7 g7 p# n8 M% z' d0 ~出路：
" v6 G$ _2 u: K, X9 N6 N) kAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
" i. L% S( b! Y- v9 s+ c1 h: e往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
- K+ t2 u" |( e& G- a一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
8 z' ~& N% E; T5 K不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

分享一下工作正準備邁入第4年的 FAE工作心得
當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

. m2 W7 g1 v8 k" i- k. d當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

6 n5 k6 z3 {: h) ^0 v# P或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

但是由於會接觸到各式各樣的人 其實也算收穫頗多

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

, ]4 C6 N6 W9 b! q: }+ v當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

: e. K/ K/ Y( Z8 Y$ k; l在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

- P8 G! v% b& P; W專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

; _, |( a' D4 C. n0 y) v對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

- |7 m  \6 H8 U我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

7 F6 G+ a' Z: C9 L( qFAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

- S' s  L2 q0 `: A7 i+ k有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

$ l% z& C' [# X! z專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

# |; _4 r( J7 e  C$ A, ?6 a以上三點是最主要的發展方向

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

; }3 q( m3 z$ b; F9 n因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

4 V$ z' s5 c7 |4 s若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
