事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
5 f* D1 G0 K/ y之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

) J/ P! j0 T2 @$ I7 `& I1 v9 \3 r他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
8 H+ \: _8 o) w; e9 O+ P1 a只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
9 ?1 P' S! l! R也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。

! M: t& q6 t5 j/ R原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
2 Z6 }0 \: v- p( S都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
* v; v! R2 N: N; c+ [: `( [6 T3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
6 ^# Y/ @! F1 [% H% L現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
+ _/ E1 T  w) X1 ?教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
  s4 `7 h2 t; ^7 J0 o1 K& Ssales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
/ J$ i  [8 g/ qIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE

AE所需的技能：
1.學習能力
根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
) V6 x: W6 a; W/ W, Z快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
- R3 D/ r, b- h2 D. w2 x良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
# u7 P$ i) n5 b3 `0 K常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。

. ]' j; Q* F( I: Y- C/ o通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配

AE的背景與出路：
1 i3 X8 K+ }# k0 _* a# O. m背景：
目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
  l* H" P" t5 g' w1 L  X# N合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
AE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
# ~7 `1 M3 S; r. g, _- `往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
3 t6 w2 X" g9 \一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
' o( C/ Q4 Z5 P6 R+ s3 g$ N  B1 psales > marketing >= FAE > AE
不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

以上是一般IC廠的AE資訊，系統廠的AE又會有不同的角色及工作內容，有待有經驗者分享

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

- F. I1 A6 l* |* z那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

. W9 |! c; b$ |  a* H當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

4 ?  z! o$ u4 Q6 V6 |* p/ I+ z每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

. H' u3 y9 n% U$ Q7 q聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

& `$ u# x# E8 E  r3 T$ K0 g) `; @4 s總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

- ]/ a7 U- x& }* m4 j9 W或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

再來才是考慮自己的專業能力夠不夠

FAE需要的專業?

9 d5 B. u6 Z7 H0 n9 AFAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

3 C$ |% {! h: f  J- n看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

  J, R$ {1 N" q3 ]* Z  a  x專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

3 Q3 f. a9 w8 {- a專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以
6 ~0 [: r: D2 o4 m6 T
差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

1 M* p. C$ G: l( T# H- n- ?5 G. f嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

所以最需要的專業 應該是嘴砲技能...XD

FAE的發展

! e7 b0 V# [& G由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

9 w0 O4 q  s7 _看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的
9 N0 ]0 h2 D6 @) k* _+ N* z( M: w
加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件
3 s! X1 }4 l2 z% Z5 z3 c6 S; ~! J
以上三點是最主要的發展方向

# x: l1 G8 n$ g  Y1 S' J/ N若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

' x" V! F( {( ]0 _3 K5 H2 f; y) U; A因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
