事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
( C; _5 G% q" E2 ^. R! \6 k之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

7 n, u9 ^4 |; h. X% u他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來

只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

AE工作內容：

原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
% ]3 s4 d! n- e3 T, i9 H8 N也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
  C. f2 G  b- B% k+ U; b都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
, K& I' K. e8 O. ]' x5 x3 S/ m5 c現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。

教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
# ^. r. l+ b, u# A: q+ [0 NIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：

根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。

不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
' o% ~1 O5 t6 m5 P. v" U/ [! E: f$ f溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。

. t! c  a& n% m+ s: L7 ^2 j無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。

AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候

; j1 {) O) E: `常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：

目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
0 e7 z* O  w& f/ @合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
AE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
  j, |' R( r7 `) @7 i往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
7 W2 E( t& ?2 x' Q% _# p3 MAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
& u& K; |' \( Y- L1 u一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
8 p/ Z: o, L- z% H不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

7 S6 \/ C" C" F3 j+ a# a5 B那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

( w8 w5 x$ V# F; l當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

) F$ U) O: d+ O& I5 y雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

) ?9 g4 i$ @4 m6 J8 O* N但是由於會接觸到各式各樣的人 其實也算收穫頗多

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

* N" H, I' y1 _, J當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

; e, D5 A7 m% y6 z+ q/ H( g專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

, K6 L+ Y! ^3 z4 c- g4 r+ c, b3 _接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

6 k( c; V# g( M( U( ?; h我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

# P* i8 q* o& ^9 V在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快


: u% a( v, p  M8 S/ oFAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

& M8 U& h2 ?2 ?* M* l% g由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

7 ?  {! r3 K6 ?! h- [" G4 Y有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

/ k: }  [' v6 z, b& {因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

, X' U8 V# \0 X- O5 @6 O1 PFAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

2 F0 u" y/ Q- N0 d零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路
9 T3 l5 @3 B9 Q/ F4 E' v
3 D1 s3 s3 R! T& q8 Y  ~看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

/ G1 ~  _% U. s9 w專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

. o  z5 m* t9 m! [# a5 z若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD

對於整體的工作效率會有很大的幫助 一點小小的淺見
